A Damchiya is a traditional piece of Indian furniture, often referred to as a dowry chest. The beautifully crafted chests would have stored a bride's dowry for marriage, and contained valuable jewellery, textiles and other household goods.
Damychiyas are typically made from solid wood such as teak, and are known for their beautiful intricate carvings and multiple storage compartments.
